This is one I have waited for. I sold this model boat for many years and found it to be one of the best all around boats avaiable. Great for family, fishing, sking and takes the water really well.This old timer had a volvo 4 cyl. stern drive locked up and was given to us, you can imagne the condition! To my dismay I deleted all of the before picts so can only share the finished with you. Take my word it was pretty rough.
Completely stripped it. Replaced transom with SeaCast and built the motor bracket.
Complete new paint job in and out. Motor well converted to a 40 gal. round live well and storage. All new wiring, batteries, controls, hydrualic steering system and sst wheel. New non -skid deck coating,lights , cleats accessories.
All of the teak was replaced with StarBoard new seats and a whole new life!
A Yamaha (95) 200 with a 19" sst prop moves this old girl at 54 mph. at 5600 rpm! Beautifu cruise at 30 -35 mph. and really sips the gas.This one will be a work in progress as I am not going to part with her. We will be adding Bimini Top, electronics maybe additional seating. We will keep you posted as to progress. I can't wait to take the grand kids tubing and fishing.
This really gives you an idea of what can be done with older boats and a budjet. We all want a new rig but how many can really afford it. This whole job, including the motor cost, would be less than 1/3 of the cost of a similar new boat and motor.
